Next week temperatures will start to climb yet again. Once again, don’t expect a washout, but isolated storms will produce lots of lightning and locally heavy rain. That boundary is also helping create scattered showers and storms through the evening, but don’t worry: we’re not expecting your Friday night to be a washout, just keep an eye out for spotty storms that could produce frequent lightning and heavy rain.Ī similar pattern stays in place through the weekend as that stationary front stays just to our north, allowing daily chances for rain and storms to develop. While fire danger isn’t extreme across the area yet, this continued warm and dry weather is curing or drying out grasses and shrubs, some of which grew taller due to the rainy spring and early summer. The stationary front that has been stalled out through our region has lifted to the north, but that has allowed more humidity to push into Central North Carolina, so while temperatures haven’t been warmer than average, it feels uncomfortable due to the increased moisture. Temperatures will slowly recover a bit toward average (upper 70s for Seattle) early next week with a mix of clouds and sun. There will be a little better chance of rain across the far north during the day and maybe even an isolated thunderstorm in the north Cascades in the afternoon.
